UNREALBANTER Has A New Sidekick On Tumblr

I’ll be using my newly setup Tumblr blog to post those “other” posts everyone does. If I watch a movie and have a quick thought on it, but it’s not worth going into detail about, I’ll use the Tumbr blog instead of cluttering this one up.

Same goes for many other topics, but you get the idea. So follow it, or just stay tuned here on the main blog, because I’ll be posting short link posts to the ones worth reading. I might just do a digest type post once a week or so detailing what’s been going on over there. It won’t even be that much different because I chose a theme (see below) that makes it all familiar!

I’ve added Disqus comments as well, so don’t be frightened. And for those new to Tumblr, the header / title links are NOT permalinks, they’re EXTERNAL links. You must use the permalink icon on the bottom of the post, or click the comment count. Cheers.

New BLOG ‘Unreal Banter’ — That’s Where I’ll Be.

If you’re looking for some new content, head over to my new blog Unreal Banter. It’s the same ol’ me, just re-organized. I needed a fresh start if I were to start this back up again the right way.

I’ve had this self-named WordPress.com blog since about, 2005. It’s been 7 years. Content ranges from awful, to awful-est. I really needed a blank slate this time, I can’t just keep leaving and coming back if it’s going to be the same ol’ slate.

So check it out!!

ALSO, if you still stumble on something on this site, I’m still allowing emails for new comments and such, so I will still be joining the conversation over here, as long as it lasts. But all the new content will be on Unreal Banter.

And YES, still a WordPress.com website. Why don’t I get a domain? I’m asked that 100 times a month, and say the same thing. I’m broke. Won’t be dropping cash for something I can’t seem to do 24/7. Sure, I moderate, conversate, etc 24/7 but writing every single day all year round isn’t something I can do if I want to move on with life.

You catch my drift. So what are you waiting for? FOLLOW Unreal Banter!

Get subscribed now! I’m getting my initial amount of posts done before I begin laying them out, FYI. So I can stick to a posting schedule. Talk to me on Twitter for updates of when I start posting. By Friday, you will see the first.

The Retina Display Is Coming To A Laptop/Desktop Near You

As of right now the only product widely known to have the high-res Retina Display is the iPhone 4. Not for long. Other’s want in on the action. It’s one of the  many features that enabled Apple to release a whole new refresh to the iPhone lineup.

First of all, what is the Retina Display?

The iPhone 4 Retina Display

  • larger than usual angle of view. Above 120 degrees.
  • It approaches the human eye’s view with such a high-resolution capability.
  • The color resolution is much greater than that of a conventional display.

RIP Don LaFontaine – Now Bring In Pablo Francisco

Everyone has heard his voice. ‘The Movie Trailer Guy’ has died at the age of 68. Don LaFontaine was around 13 years old when in mid-sentence his voice dropped making him embarrassed to talk the next day in school. His voice never went back to normal again.

He then went into the movie industry as a film editor and then went on to be the guy you hear in every movie trailer you ever see. He has done over 5,000 movie trailer and TV voiceovers. Whether you know the name or not, you will always remember the voice attached to all of what he has done.

Here is a video tribute to the man behind the voice. Here is Pablo Francisco the hilarious comedian doing his voice better than I’ve seen anyone do it. I wonder if film-makers will go to Pablo now.

Update – I just realized he was set to be interviewed for an upcoming documentary titled ‘The Voice Gods Of Hollywood.’ Hopefully they got his interviews finished because he was the voice god! It’s filming right now, heading for a 2009 release. Keep your eye out!

The Fast And The Furious 4 Details And Photos

New Photos have arrived for the new Fast And The Furious 4 film. I’m very excited about this because the whole gang from the original is BACK! Here is the plot that will be used in the newest film.

Heading back to the streets where it all began, two men rejoin two women to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert. When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O’Connor. But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what’s possible behind the wheel.

There is also word of Vin Diesel directing a prequel to the series.

Update – I just wrote this post about the entire Fast And Furious franchise and how it was brought down, and how this one will hit due to its similarities to the original.

George Carlin Dies At 71. A Very Sad Day It Is.

George Carlin dies at age 71. Any other celebrity i could care less about, but this marks a very sad day in my life. I’ve learned more from George Carlin than i have all through High School. This guy is one of my heroes and will NEVER be forgotten. This really sucks for America. No one left to tell the truth.
